Borehole yield testing |
Yield testing is the process performed to establish the yield of a borehole. This will assist with the design of the pump selection to prevent over-pumping of the well to eliminate too large a pump being selected, causing increased costs of running the equipment. Although yield testing is not an expensive commodity, people tend to ignore doing this important test merely to save a few rand.
Depending on what the water is going to be used for a suitable pump will be chosen for the volume of water to be produced from a certain depth. Pump manufacturers will not guarantee any pump if the pump has run dry. A certificate of water delivery should be issued once the borehole has been tested.
